Ensembles

Elizabeth is a proud member of two long-running ensembles:  Her critically-lauded Celtic and international roots quartet “Stringed Migration,” features  Bob Soper  (fiddle, vocals bouzouki, guitar, percussion), Eddie Parente (violin/viola), and Rob Barrick (double bass/Scottish pipes).  The band plays Irish traditional music like seasoned pros, but will also pull off a lithe Romanian hora, a truly emo Pink Floyd cover, and an exceptionally high and lonesome bluegrass song.   They have a fun and very informal recurring gig and the O'Neill Pub (NE 60th and Glisan in Portland) every 3rd Sunday of the month from 7:30(ish) to 9:30pm .  To learn more about Stringed Migration, you can also check out their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/stringedmigration/; and you can watch video of the band performing on their YouTube channel.

Elizabeth also frequently performs with fellow Stringed Migrator Bob Soper in a duo format, affectionately (and accidentally) known around town as "ElizaBob." They play out in Portland quite a bit, including a monthly traditional Irish gig at the Rock Creek Tavern ((10000 NW Cornelius Pass Rd, Hillsboro) for the pub's weekly "Irish Sunday" series.  Elizabeth and Bob also often perform for Irish ceili dances.

In addition to these projects, Elizabeth has collaborated extensively with numerous other members of Portland's folk, rock, and classical music communities, and she is always delighted to put a customized ensemble together to suit a specific occasion.  Custom ensemble options (in addition to harp) include fiddle, Irish and Scottish pipes, guitar, Irish bouzouki, mandolin, flute, whistles, percussion, double bass, tenor and 5 string banjo, button and piano accordion, dobro, cello, keyboards, hammer dulcimer, additional harps, and male and female vocals. A customized ensemble may feature exclusively Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Americana, Renaissance and medieval, classic folk and rock, classical, general world music, or any combination thereof.
