Solo Performance

Elizabeth is available to perform solo for private and public events within several hours of Portland Oregon.  She may serve as background music or be a featured performer, and will provide a high quality, battery-powered, portable amplifier at no additional cost.  She offers clients the option to choose from 2 different lever harps: a bright dynamic-sounding "Cithara Nova" by John Westling of Sandpiper instruments, that is her main go-to harp for traditional Irish and Scottish dance music;  and a warm, earth-toned Thormahlen "Swan" by Corvallis-based harpmaker Dave Thormahlen, that works beautifully for quiet background music and vocal accompaniment.

Elizabeth's repertoire includes myriad classical standards, renaissance, medieval, seasonal, and world music tunes, but her most extensive area of expertise is in the tunes and songs of the Celtic diaspora.  She is also a skilled improviser and sought-after session player.  (To get a sampling of Elizabeth's repertoire, please consult her "Video" pages under the "Listen" icon, where you can virtually audition her for performances).    She's happy to play for any occasion in settings that are both traditional for the harp, and where harp would be an unexpected surprise.  Her only performance requirement is that her instrument is not exposed to direct sunlight, rain, or damp ground.
